On behalf of the staff at Chesapeake Science Point, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2015/16 school year. We are all excited to have students back in the building filling our hallways with the energy and enthusiasm that brings life to CSP.
As we begin another year, undoubtedly filled with countless success and exponential growth in our students and faculty, we also look forward to continuing partnerships with our returning families as well as establishing partnerships with our new families. We know from experience that a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education; whether in middle or high school. As partners, we share the responsibility for your child’s success. We are dedicated to developing successful, well-rounded students by promoting an educational environment sustained by a nurturing, disciplined and dynamic learning culture.

We would also like to welcome back Mrs. Cunning and daughter Elizabeth, Mrs. Gunes and son Cevdet , and Mrs. Moore with sons Malcom and Miles after ending last year on maternity leave. It is always a great feeling to see our CSP family growing.
We invite you to become an active participant in our school community through volunteering, joining our PTSO, or attending and supporting school events. Since communication is the key to a successful school experience, look for the weekly newsletter containing information about the week’s events. Because we are a small school, the success of our events greatly depends on participation from all of our families. We are excited to host our traditional events this year such as: Homecoming, Literary Pumpkin Night, Science Olympiad, Book Swap, Science Fair, Book Fair, Geography Bee, School Play, Saturday School History Day, School Dances, Career Day, Field Trips, SGA functions, Prom, etc. . . as well as ongoing clubs and athletic events . Please support your child or our athletes every opportunity you get. Taking PRIDE in our Tigers encourages the positive attitude we hope to foster in our student body.
Education is most successful when there is a partnership between the school, students, parents/guardians, and community. We look forward to communicating with you this year and working together to make this school year productive and memorable.
