We are quite excited to announce that the 4th Annual CSP Science and Engineering Fair took place at University of Maryland, College Park on December 13, 2008. 200 projects were on display during the fair. Projects were available for public viewing from 1:30 to 3:00 pm. More than fifty (50) scientists and engineers from numerous educational and professional institutions in the area were present at the fair to judge our students' projects. 

More than fine hundred (500) students, parents, volunteers, and CSP staff preferred to spend their Saturday for Science and Engineering rather than going to mall for Christmast shopping. Students were able to visit UMD Labs and use Student Union facilities while not being judged. Award Ceremony started with Principal Mr. Kandil's welcome speech. Mr. Cicek, Department Head for Science, gave a brief and meaningful speech on Science Education. Assistant Superintendent Sally Pelham welcomed audience on behalf of AACPS. CSP Board Vice President - Spokesperson Mr. Lancaster also welcomed students and parents. CSP Science and Engineering Fair's keynote speaker was Maryland State Senator Bryan W. Simonaire. Students who competed on seven (7) different categories were excited to hear the winners. These were the winners who spent their days and nights to complete their project, research paper, and experiments.

The best project of each category received a 16-GB ipod Nano, the second place of each category received an 8-GB ipod Nano, and the third place of each category received a Snap Circuit SC 300 set. The overall top three projects were announced after the ending remarks of AACPS Board President Enrique Melendez. The top three projects received laptops!
