On April 18, 2010, 1,655 Young Scientists from 71 countries, with 450
projects, competed in the I-SWEEEP- International Sustainable (Energy, Engineering,
Environment) World Project Olympiad. I-SWEEEP is one of the largest
environmental science fair competitions in the world.
Jack competed with his Best of the Best winning science fair
project at the 5th CSP Annual Science Fair;“A Bright Detective: Can Vibrio Fischeri
Detect Bio-Available Water Pollutants in the Watershed of Stony Creek”. He received
FIRST PLACE in the middle school category.
The I-SWEEEP 2010 was held in Houston, Texas. It was open to all
eligible middle and high schools students from around the globe and a total of
$400,000 value awards and scholarships were distributed to winning students.
The competition took place between April 14-19, and was sponsored by many
prestigious higher education institutions including the University of Houston and
the University of Texas in Dallas.
Congratulations CSP, Anne Arundel County, the State of Maryland,
