Chesapeake Science Point Public Charter School students were privileged to participate in the Groundbreaking Ceremony of Warriors in Transition Soldier and Family Assistance Center for the Wounded Warriors of our Nation.
The ceremony took place on April 19, 2010, also was
highlighted by the presence of the U.S. Senator Benjamin Cardin, U.S.
Congressman Frank Kratovil, Lt. Governor Anthony Brown,Installation Commander
Col. Daniel Thomas, County Executive John Leopold, Delegate Mary Ann Love,
along with many wounded warriors and their families.
CSP Junior Honors Society students came up with carnations
and decorated them with the colors of our flag and presented them to all
attending Wounded Warriors and their families. Wounded Warriors and all
attendees were so touched and impressed with such thoughtful efforts of CSP
students.
During the event CSP students were approached by Senator
Cardin, Congressman Kratoville and Lt. Governor Anthony Brown, and were able to
introduce themselves, and to talk about CSP and its accomplishments. Memorable
photos were taken featuring this very meaningful event.
Colonel Daniel Thomas also thanked CSP students for their considerate action to support our troops. Once again students at CSP exercised the theme “come to learn, go forth to serve” while honoring the Wounded Warriors, the servants of our nation at Fort Meade.
