The Fifth CSP Science & Engineering Fair was held at the University of Maryland-College Park was another true success story engraved in the history of CSP. The exceptional event was held on December 12, 2009 with participation of 550 CSP community members.
The House of Delegate for Anne Arundel County, Pam Beidle was the keynote speaker. Delegate Beidle delivered a very inspiring and encouraging message about CSP’s accomplishments and growth. AACPS BOE Members Enrique Melendez, Kevin Jackson, AA County Executive Representative Bob Leib, AA County House of Delegate Tony McConkey, UM-College Park, Assistant Dean Andrea Morris, Deputy Vice President to Lockheed Martin, Lisa Trombley, CSP Governing Board Members Spear Lancaster, Vib Patel, Dr. Ali Bicak also honored the event with their presences and very supportive messages.
The event, where we had eighty three (83) judges from local, and national prestigious hi-tech organizations such as NASA, NIH, NSA, US ARMY, UMBC, UM-College Park, Johns Hopkins and Lockheed Martin was sponsored by three platinum sponsors, CSP PTO, UM-College Park, and Lockheed Martin. The $20,000 value event could not be a reality without their generous support for CSP.
At the end of the day, all one hundred and ninety students enjoyed being part of such a challenging but at the same time fun event supported wholeheartedly by so many adults around them. They were all extremely excited.
