The 2^nd Annual CSP Science Fair:

The 2^nd Annual CSP Science Fair was held Saturday, February 3.  For months now, our students have been feverishly working on science fair projects.  WOW!  The projects were amazing.  Some projects have been chosen to go to the Anne Arundel County Science Fair and the Morgan State University Science Fair.  We had lots of people, lots of fun, and the PTO raised some money too by selling pizza and sodas.  We were honored to have some wonderful guest judges and speakers including Bill Higgins, PhD, Spears Lancaster, CLF Board President, and Colonel McCreedy, as well as some of our own staff and CLF Board Members.  Thank you to all of those who donated the wonderful prizes for our winners.  A big congratulations for a job well done is in order for our science teachers, Mr. Cicek and Mr. Tuna!

We are a group of educators in the process of starting a charter school which will offer a comprehensive college preparatory program focusing on science, mathematics, and technology in Anne Arundel County under the name: Chesapeake Science Point Public Charter School (CSP). CSP’s founding group brings extensive experience through highly successful careers in education at both secondary and postsecondary levels as well as in business and finance.

Chesapeake Science Point Public Charter School in partnership with students, parents and the community, will attain educational excellence by providing a rigorous and quality education for middle and high school students with a special focus on science, math and technology.

This mission will be accomplished by incorporating technology into the curriculum, and promoting opportunities for students, teachers, administrators and parents to participate in an information society. CSP will convey the understanding that technology is a viable and increasingly essential educational tool. CSP graduates will have the training to successfully compete and advance to higher education.
